Lisa fell in love with music in fifth grade when she began to play flute. Soon after, she was asked to coach a classmate beginning flute, and she realized her passion was teaching music. After graduation, Lisa went on to receive her BM in Music Education from The College of New Jersey in 2000. As a certified music teacher, she spent a few years teaching band and general music in public and parochial schools. She spent 13 seasons with Summersong/Choir School, extracurricular music camps where she found herself gravitating toward younger and younger learners. So in 2007, she became a certified Kindermusik* instructor working with young children and their families in group music classes, while maintaining a small flute studio in her free time.
In 2013, she joined the Community Family Learning Center of Torrington to offer a variety of music classes with a focus on literacy, family bonding, and school readiness programs in the Torrington Public School system. When she is not teaching or repairing instruments at Falcetti Music, Lisa enjoys playing with the Torrington Symphony Orchestra and other community ensembles throughout the year. She has performed in various musical productions around CT and MA, including Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Jekyll and Hyde, Alice in the Palace, Oklahoma, Young Frankenstein, and Into the Woods.
Our Tots N’ Tune music program is an exciting, educational, and fun-filled class for little ones under age 7.
Designed to introduce music and movement activities alongside a parent/guardian,
Tots N’ Tune provides early exposure to the joys and benefits of music.
Join our instructor, Ms. Lisa, as she helps children and their families discover the value of informal music making in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our program is designed to introduce musical and movement activities which can be shared beyond the classroom at home, providing repetitious, reinforced learning, rhythmic beats to enhance coordination and pattern awareness. Tots N’ Tune assists in the development of verbal, musical, academic, listening, social, and emotional skills along with physical coordination and relationship skills, such as sharing and taking turns.
