In each class, families will enjoy a time of social interaction and free play. By allowing space to safely interact with other families and various percussion instruments, curiosity is engaged, and friendships are formed. After the initial time of connection, Mrs. Connie will skillfully lead the class through a series of traditional songs, rhymes, games, and stories using her voice as well as instruments, props, and puppets. All styles and genres of music are welcomed, and great care has been taken with the material to make the time fun and engaging.
The First Steps in Music program allows for intimate music making activities between a young child and a parent/caregiver and helps create important bonding experiences. It develops attentiveness, attachment and promotes the emotional health that is important for a child’s overall development. From years of experience, Mrs. Connie has created a unique program and she is excited to help families learn how to musically grow and play together.
