My Approach to Teaching
Music is a universal language that imparts a unique emotional experience for every person. Having overcome my own fear of performing as a vocalist in my 30s, I am dedicated to encouraging my students to explore their voices, confront their fears, build performance confidence, and embrace where their talent may lead them. During my return to school to study voice, I faced and overcame vocal tension dysphonia through speech therapy. This personal challenge deepened my understanding and has influenced and inspired my teaching. My instructional method is deeply rooted in guiding students to properly use and care for their vocal instruments, ensuring they can enjoy a lifetime of healthy singing.
