Niko Stathis - BIO

Niko has been a musician since the age of twelve. After teaching himself during his early years, he continued his musical development through formal education and private instruction. He earned an Associate of Arts degree in Music Performance from Holyoke Community College, where he built a strong musical foundation while studying with Joe La Creta and Bob Ferrier.

Niko also attended the UMass Amherst “Jazz in July” program, where he had the opportunity to study with many renowned jazz musicians. He has been teaching guitar for approximately five years and has performed with numerous bands and ensembles at clubs, weddings, corporate events, and other venues. The teachers who made the greatest impact on Niko inspired him to become the best and most well-rounded version of himself through creativity, patience, and persistence. As an instructor, he strives to share these same qualities with his students, helping each one grow in skill, confidence, and love of music.

My goal is to inspire my students to appreciate & enjoy music while also helping them become proficient on their instrument.

My Approach to Teaching

My teaching philosophy involves trying to cater to each individual student and what their goals are. Whether it be becoming a professional musician or just for self-fulfillment I strive to help my students build and maintain a solid foundation on their instrument!
