Amanda Janko - BIO

Music has always been an important form of expression for Amanda. From an early age, she took private voice lessons and participated in multiple NYSSMA solo festivals. She also participated in multiple SCMEA regional treble and mixed choirs, performing both classical and jazz music. Amanda is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where she earned a B.A. in Music, a B.S. in Music Education, and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She was formerly a member of UConn's Chamber Singers and served as the music director of UConn's Drop the Bass A Cappella group.

Amanda is actively involved in multiple community theaters in the Simsbury area. She currently teaches Pre-K through eighth-grade general music and band.

I believe every student has a musical voice, and I can't wait to see my students grow into confident, versatile musicians!
