Musical Achievements:

Plays viola in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra for 34 years, also founder of the Bel Canto Chamber Players where she plays violin. Performances with the Hartford symphony Orchestra, the Binghamton Symphony Orrchesta, Vermont, Sacramento, Tri Cities Opera, Berkshire Choral Fesitval. Carol was fortunate enough to have worked under Gunther Schuller, Seiji Ozawa, and also was a soloist under Leonard Bernstein. Carol's other performances include the Peter Britt Music Festival in Oregon, The Waterloo Music Festival in New Jersey, The New England Chamber Orchestra, The Flux Contemporary Music Ensemble, and has recorded with artists such as Rani Arbo and Daisy Mayhem, the Winterpills, Mark Hershler and others. Carol has a M.M. from The University of Massachusetts where she was in the Graduate String Quartet Program with the Meridian Quartet, became the first Post Graduate String Quartet in Residence at UMASS.

Approach to Teaching:

Carol believes in a lot of positive reinforcement, and hopes that students will come open to technical and musical ideas that will go with their level of playing. Technique at the beginning of playing the instrument is vital to becoming accomplished and able to create a beautiful sound.
